With a steady focus on innovation and sound science, we work to deliver vaccines and medicines that can help millions around the world.

Vaccines are one of the greatest public health success stories of the 20th century, and MSD has played its part in that story.

We are one of a few companies that remain dedicated to the complex business of researching and producing vaccines. Our unique contributions include the prevention of now rare diseases, like measles and mumps, to diseases never thought preventable, like shingles and cervical cancer.

In addition, MSD has more than 100 medicines in key therapeutic areas, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, respiratory disease, oncology, infectious diseases and women's health.

MSD believes New Zealanders need to be informed and educated about the medicines they take as part of an overall treatment plan for their condition. That's why we believe it's important we provide this information to you. Use the List of all MSD Products to search for the Consumer Medicine Information (for consumers) and Product Information (for healthcare professionals) for each of our products. MSD recommends patients read the full CMI before starting their medicine course.

What is CMI?

Consumer Medicine Information (CMI) is provided by pharmaceutical manufacturers to help patients better understand the medicines they take. You may ask your doctor or pharmacist to provide the CMI when prescribing or dispensing your medicine.

The CMI provides easy to understand information about how to use your medicine, by explaining:

•what the medicine is used for;
•how to take it;
•possible side-effects; and
•the ingredients contained in the medicine.

Reading the CMI does not replace talking to your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any questions or concerns about your medicine, you should discuss them with your healthcare professional. For more information about your medicines, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.

CMIs for all medicines are available directly from your doctor or pharmacist. You may also download the latest CMI for a MSD medicine from this website, or call MSD on 0800 500 673.

More information about CMIs is available from the Medsafe website.
