Health Minister Annette King fielded questions and set out her key goals for the coming year at the recent MSD Health Forum, held in Auckland on 11 November 2002.
An audience of 190 key players from across the health sector attended the annual event, organised by MSD and hosted by Radio New Zealand health correspondent Rae Lamb. Also attending were many of the 40 health reporters who had attended an annual health journalism seminar that day run by the NZ Journalist's Training Organisation, with support from MSD.
Annette King set out her key strategies for encouraging primary care collaboration, her funding commitments and challenges, and the issues surrounding health sector workforce training and retention. An audio tape of the 90 minute event can be obtained by contacting MSD's corporate affairs manager Phil Johnstone, by email at phil_johnstone@merck.com
